There is a Holiday Inn Express nearby at 4500 Lakeland Park Drive\, Lakeland\, FL 33809 and Home2 Suites by Hilton at 3610 Hopewell Ave\, Lakeland\, FL 33809.  Again\, book quickly because reservations are filling up.  Several months before April approaches\, Sanlan RV will release our unreserved sites to other campers. \n\n\n\nAfter making your reservations\, email Christine Newman at pollytech42@yahoo.com to let he know which site you are staying in and how many are coming\, so Christine has a good headcount for Sunday’s brunch. \n\n\n\nWe will most likely be having our Friday evening restaurant outing at Fred’s Market Restaurant at 2120 Harden Blvd\, Lakeland\, FL 33803.  Fred’s Market is a buffet restaurant with great Southern style food.  We will have use of the Westside Recreation Hall directly across from our group site for our Saturday potluck and Sunday breakfast. \n\n\n\n$15 Rally Fee per RV will be collected at the rally to go toward Sunday’s food.

SUMMARY:Dixie Chapter\, 2026 Spring Rally
DESCRIPTION:You are cordially invited to join the Dixie Chapter Spring Rally 2026 on Friday\, April 17th through Sunday\, April 19th at Cloudland Canyon State Park in Georgia located at 122 Cloudland Canyon Park Rd\, Rising Fawn\, GA 30738. Standard Campsites provide electric and water\, while Premium Campsites provide electric\, water and sewer hookup. \n\n\n\nI would not wait too long if you think you might want to come. Cloudland Canyon State Park is a very sought after park. Reserve a campsite and if you do have to cancel\, it is only $10. We are going to have fun\, so come join us. \n\n\n\nKeep in mind that Cloudland Canyon is located about 30 minutes south of Chattanooga TN\, so if you have never seen what Chattanooga offers (Chattanooga Choo Choo\, Tennessee Aquarium\, Ruby Falls\, Rock City on Lookout Mountain\, etc.)\, you should plan a day-trip to see what you can find that is fun to do in Chattanooga. The views at Rock City are fabulous which makes Rock City my favorite thing to do in Chattanooga (https://www.seerockcity.com/). You may want to book an extra day or two to explore the area. Cloudland Canyon has a couple waterfalls and I plan to hike part of the West Rim Trail\, until it gets to rough and steep for me. I have never hiked the entire 5 mile West Rim Trail because you have to walk from the top all the way to the canyon floor and then back up to the top. \n\n\n\nPlease go out to https://gastateparks.reserveamerica.com/ and book a camping site (or a cabin)\, if you are interested in attending. Respond back to rally organizers with the campsite that you reserve\, so we know to include you in the event.

SUMMARY:Charter Chapter Fall Rally in Galesburg\, IL
DESCRIPTION:In 2025 our Fall Rally will be Thursday\, September 4th to Sunday\, September 7th at the Galesburg East/Knoxville\, Illinois KOA. This recently renovated campground has 28 acres of wooded sites\, a nice clubhouse with kitchen (that we need to share with other campers)\, store\, dog park\, hiking trail and catch and release fishing pond. In addition to the regular pull in sites they have some deluxe patio sites\, which are pricey\, and also two very nice cabins featuring a queen bed\, 32 X 73 bunk beds\, full bathroom\, air conditioning\, refrigerator and porch. We have been cautioned that the two cabins tend to be reserved early so if that interests you\, reserve early. All of the sites have a fire ring and there is a community fire pit near the pond. What is there to do? First\, for those arriving Thursday we will have a light dinner or maybe even a hot dog roast. Friday morning we’ll have a potluck breakfast at 0900 followed by a tech talk. If the day is nice\, we can car pool to Bishop Hill State Historical Site (30 miles)\, a maintained and restored Swedish utopian religious community founded in 1846\, tour the buildings\, shops and quaint cafes. On Friday night we can party at Big Catz BBQ in Knoxville. Saturday is your “free day” where you can explore to your heart’s content. Some of us will probably shoot sporting clays (think miniature golf with shotguns). Others may visit Jubilee College State Historical Site (27 miles)\, the first Cathedral and institution of higher learning in Illinois. While you are there you might want to visit Jubilee College State Park and partake of 40 miles of walking trails. If you are of an artistic bent\, the world headquarters of Dick Blick Art Supplies is located in Galesburg and they do have a factory outlet. Galesburg offers a railroad museum and you can slake your thirst and appetite at the Iron Spike Brewery. As a matter of fact\, Galesburg is fairly rife with microbreweries and the historical Seminary Street downtown district is home to many pubs\, cafes and interesting shops. Sunday morning we’ll do a continental breakfast (bring your own coffee) and get ready to dump tanks and hit the road. The KOA and manager Mark are holding a group of campsites for us and extending a 10% discount on sites. You can make your reservation online and in the “Special Requests” section specify that you are part of the Charter Chapter Rally and entitled to a 10% discount. If you need 50 amp service specify that as well. If you want a cabin\, you may want to reserve now. There are motels in the area as an option. You also need to send Mary and I a $10.00 per person rally fee. We look forward to having you join us in Knox County. – David & Mary Stjern
